Wheat

In 1950, Butia started to plant wheat as it had come back to be a good investment with profit returns in the end of the 80s, with the advances in the research. Since 1989, Butia has been supporting the program to improve wheat development within the property bye the researcher Ottoni Rosa, founder of OR Improvement in Seeds - familiar company with the mission to breed wheat cultivars with high potential of yielding, resistance to diseases, huge adaptation and excellent industrial quality. The running of the improvement program in several regions of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, associated to increasing investments in technical workers, equipment and installations will surely supply better cultivars to the producers, with excellent results as the ones already launched OR1, Rubi, Granito, Taurum, Alcover, Avante, ônix, Jaspe, Pampeano, Safira and Abalone.

Soybean

Butiá, along with 39 seed producers of RS, is the founder of the pro-Seeds Foundation, which has the objective to promote, spread an enlarge the technological knowledge directed to cattle breeding, as well as the cooperation with the researching and teaching institutions in developing new soybean, wheat and oat cultivars.

Sementes e Cabanha Butia has also been associated to COODETEC since 2003. This Central Cooperative of Agricultural Research was founded in 1995 by the Cooperative Organization of Parana State, with the aim of helping the associates in the area of cattle breeding, generation and technology.

SIU - SEED IMPROVEMENT UNIT

Built in 1977, Butia Seed Improvement Unit offers excellent conditions to produce quality seeds. The aluminium roofs reflect the sun beans; the ceiling height improves the air circulation; the parquet floor avoids humidity; machine construction and driers help the final quality; the soybean selected in sieves (5.5 mm and 6.5 mm) guaranty the cultivation homogeneity.

The production of a good seed starts in the germination, demanding care during all the cultivation cycle, with the correct rotation, trained workers who are careful about market oscillation, favourable climate for the harvest, correct improvement and storing of the seeds and a complete analyses of authorized laboratories.

There have been 28 years of work, thousands of clients and a certainty: The seeds have always germinated.

Oat

The oat cultivars offered by Butia belong to the OR program. This harvest we will produce the variety OR 3, productive material with great vegetative development and excellent industrial quality seeds.
