The crioulo equine arrived at Butia fields in l980, making sure to be the right breed to work and leisure. The first female, BT Saracura, arrived in l982; it was a present from the unforgettable Flavio Bastos Tellechea. In the same year, BT Dendosa, BT Salitre's mother and BT Lasqueada, Butia Arunco's mother arrived.
During all these years of breeding, we have tried to find the functional kind of horse with the selection of mothers and the use of the approved stallion. During the 90's, there was in Chile a horse crossing whose product was appealing even before being born. It was a TACO trait x ESTRIBILLO, champions of Chilean Rodeo. From this crossing, SANTA ELBA COMEDIANTE came to the stage.
With this new genetics, and a great deal of work associated with some luck, Butia won The Silver Bridle 86. We have always believed in the enormous potential of crioulo breed, which will always conquer new spaces and we all want to continue to contribute to the growing of this passion.
